Nature in Muonio is incredibly diverse. We have over 20 fells, as well as many large bodies of water. The fells and lakes create a breathtakingly beautiful landscape.<\/p>\n
One of Finland\u2019s highest peaks is in Muonio, allowing a view far into the distance. Sunsets and sunrises are stunning from these higher peaks. Taivaskero (809 m) is the highest peak in Muonio. You can climb to the top any time of the year.<\/p>\n
At the summit you are welcomed by a memorial stone from the 1952 Olympic Games. This is where the Olympic torch was lit under the midnight sun and carried by runners through Finland all the way to the Olympic Stadium in Helsinki.<\/p>\n
