Visanto Lodge

Visanto Lodge is a traditional Finnish log villa right by the shore of Muoniojoki River.

The large windows of the lodge offer a view of the vibrant colours of autumn in Lapland or the splendour of the northern lights.

The size of the traditional log villa is 180 m2. The villa was built in the 1960s and was fully renovated in 2021.

The warm and cosy lodge has modern, fully equipped kitchen, the space and amenities to accommodate groups of up to 14 people. Six bedrooms, three toilets, a shower room and a spacious lounge/dining area with a fireplace.

The cabin windows have a view of the Muoniojoki River. The river offers great opportunities for catching salmon.

A traditional, wood heated beach sauna is available for guests next to the villa, by the river shore. In the cooking hut, guests can prepare delicious barbecue food on open fire and spend comfortable evenings together while sitting by the campfire.

In the winter, you can watch the northern lights dancing through the windows; in the summer, you can wonder at the midnight sun; and, in the autumn, you can enjoy the fantastic, vibrant colours of trees as seasons turn.

Visanto Lodge is close by to the most beautiful fells in Lapland: Olos 15 km, Pallas 35 km, Levi 70 km, and Ylläs 45 km. Additionally, the beautiful northwesternmost areas of Finland are just a day trip away (180 km to Kilpisjärvi), and there is just a 220 km drive to Norway.

Commercial services are available close by, at the village of Muonio, just 15 kilometres south from the Lodge.

The four seasons in Lapland offer many opportunities for unique experiences – by yourself or with a guide.

Peace of nature, the closeness of the best-known fells in Lapland, and the Muoniojoki River flowing past the lodge with its plentiful fish population all offer a fantastic setting for various activities.

Relax and listen to the sounds of nature, hike on top of a fell to admire the breath-taking views or take a wild ride on a sled pulled by reindeer. After a day out in nature, you can relax in the soft heat of the beach sauna and even take a dip in the Muoniojoki River.
